An Edinburgh Chess Club inaugural event with the eventual goal of hosting regular monthly events at the club in the same or similar format.

Starting time: 1pm
- 5 round rated open tournament
- rate of play: 15/10 allegro (all moves in 15 minutes with 10s increments from the start)
- entries are limited to 28 players, so please book early!
- entry fee: £15
- Prizes (subject to entries): 1st prize £80, 2nd prize £50, plus grading prizes.
Playing Sessions
Announcements will begin promptly at 13:00 and clocks will start shortly afterwards. There will be a short prize giving ceremony at the end of the tournament. Refreshments will be available at the event.
Grading/Rating
Chess Scotland (CS) Allegro Grading will be used. Where this is not available, CS Standard Grading will be used.
Conditions of entry
The tournament is run by Edinburgh Chess Club who reserves the right to:
- refuse entry without assigning a reason
- increase or decrease the prize fund
- take any other measures deemed necessary to ensure smooth running of the tournament
- entries may be withdrawn up to one week before the event, and subject to the organisers discretion, the fees paid refunded
- photographs taken at the event may be used for publicity purposes - any objection should be notified to the event organiser prior to the event
